Life on a working cattle ranch is full of excitement and brings something new every day. The Rock Ranch, located an hour or less from Atlanta, Columbus, and Macon, did just this, and a weekend trip must be on your calendar for 2021.
The Rock Ranch was founded in 1989 by Chick-Fil-A’s own, late Truett Cathy. The ranch is dedicated to “Uniting Families to the Land and Each Other.” This 1,500-acre cattle ranch raises beef without added hormones or steroids. The premium beef and fresh produce can be bought by visitors at The Country Store located on the farm.
Cathy created The Rock Ranch as a place where families, school groups, and businesses could enjoy agritourism. Some of the events to look forward to in 2021 include Easter Eggstravaganza, Celebrate America, Fall Family Fun Days, and Country Christmas Nights. The Rock Ranch is a seasonal destination located in rural Georgia and has events throughout the year. The ranch even offers Farm Stays with different houses and wagon camping experiences.
Some of the attractions you might find yourself doing on one of these festival days include cow-a-bunga zip lines, gemstone mining, tractor wagon rides, plus tons more. There is something fun for all ages that will help teach you and your family about your food and fiber.
Not only is The Rock Ranch the perfect family getaway, it is also a premier filming location. Not far from the “Hollywood of the South,” The Rock Ranch was a filming site for Rampage, a movie coincidently starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
