Agriculture plays a vital role in Georgia's rural communities, and at Georgia's Rural Center, we are gearing up to celebrate Georgia Ag Week, March 18-22!

In Georgia, broilers, cotton, eggs, peanuts and timber are the top five commodities produced. Together, these commodities brought in $7.65 billion in 2017. As a whole, Georgia agriculture contributed $73.7 billion to the state's economy.

Georgia's farmers also lead the US in the production of broilers, hatching eggs, peanuts and pecans.

For more information, check out UGA's Ag Snapshots 2019 to learn more about the impacts agriculture makes to Georgia's economy.
