Cotton - the snow of the south. Our denim blue jeans that we slip into, the soft sheets we lay on every night, and the coffee filters we use to fuel our day all start as cotton. Cotton is such a unique crop and is used in more ways than we know about.

Georgia’s cotton industry continues to thrive. In 2018, 1.35 million acres of cotton were harvested, which could produce over 600 million pairs of blue jeans.

If you’re driving through rural Georgia looking to see the snow of the south, cotton is sure to be found in these counties:

  • Dooly

  • Colquitt

  • Worth

  • Brooks

  • Bulloch

  • Coffee

  • Thomas

  • Irwin

  • Berrien

  • Mitchell
